we are finding a balance
sometimes that means,
a trip to 7-11 for pink Slurpee's
and sometimes it means
salmon, corn and salad
sometimes it means letting them be "big"
like riding a scooter at two
and sometimes it means
grabbing them close and not letting go
no matter how hard they try to resist.
sometimes it means
family togetherness ad nauseum
and sometimes it means
man time with our front porch
sometimes balance simply shows
in this little guy's mad skills
or in this girl's understanding that her blue wig is for home only
we are finding a balance and it is good.
