how do you explain to your babies what happened before they were even born?

well apparently they already know.

"mom, why do they keep talking about 9-11?"

"is it because those bad jets flew into the buildings and made them fall?"

she is seven

she knows.

we talk about all of the heroes, all of the children that lost their mommies and daddies.

i don't want to scare her, but i want her to know.  i want her to pray today.

the picture above, is of a man who ran the PADS 5K carrying the flag the entire way.

we need to remember.

we need to know.

i did something yesterday i haven't done in a very long time.

i ran, walked, cried, quit raced.

it felt good, brought back memories of my childhood and teenage years.

not bad for the first one....gotta keep the PR real on the first one.

missy: 1st place in her division-stud!  tiffany: best running partner ever, she could have kicked my butt but she chose to help me, love this girl.

kids weekend so far has been two of their favorite p's, pizza and park.

today...i will live my life FREE.

i will pray in my church, i will praise the One and Only True God.

i will bow my head and remember that day, ten years ago, sitting in our Bucktown coach house. 

scared, shocked, disillusioned.

i will thank God for the gifts he has given and remember that He gives and takes away.
