at 18 months she tested in the 9 month range for expressive language. we panicked, 9 months behind is a lot. how will she catch up? she started to talk and we were thankful, but still worried about what the future would bring. well, the future is here and...
she
is
a
magpie.
i know that God has a sense of humor, because when i used to pray "Heavenly Father please help my baby girl to find her voice and speak clearly." He took me quite literally.
this girl has some PIPES
her voice is so strong, so loud and so sure
she does not stop talking all. day. long.
she talks about her friends, her shows, her school, her daddy, her toys, her dolls, her outfits, her sister, her brother and she talks about herself.
"i can't want that." "canihave a little snack and a show?" "can i put on the green leotard or no?" "can i meet andria at the park?" "come in my room and play with me." "can i have a piggy back ride?" "turn it up!" "i like it if it is hot pink." "what ya doin mommy?" "can i have some lipgloss and boofiful stuff for my face?" "can i change now?"
the best part is that she has the self confidence of a third child.
thinks she can do anything and isn't afraid. she loves ballet, pretty sure it is all of the mirrors.
so i thank God tonight for answered prayers.
she has found her voice.
it was there all along.
