open doors, wake little ones with a cheerful hello
warm muffins, cold cereal, kefir by the gallon
one warm bath for boy, two sets of pigtail braids
2 lunches made to order: red peppers. turkey, grapes, quinoa chips and a lara bar
backpacks down from hooks, thrown near the back door
pile in the beast, rock out to klove to start the day
locker slams 3 times, settle in a nervous calendar helper
the total is 3 schools in a day, one private, one public, one for higher learning-we thrive on the bustle
pick up the young pigtailed one, listen to the breathless little voice squeezing in every moment of her alone time with mama
park the car....again
dash in to the quiet, serene studio for her first day
pink slippers, blue leo, waiting patiently for ms. kim to show her how to exhibit her beauty
stares through a window, she is the tallest and not the bravest. but she shines just the same.
a quick change into the new coveted tap shoes unleashes the pent up energies. tap, tap, giggle, tap
another ride filled with recaps, stories and singing
crash on a chair to catch up with my partner. sometimes i don't even remember that he needs his stories heard too, he is patient and kind.
the little man of the house is suited up, ready to rock out some purple belt requirements
park the car....again
dash into the dojo and find a good seat. two pigtailed girls draw and read. little man loves a good cheering section
the car rolls into to home, kids tumble out, famished
spelling words, memory, reading logs
home made gluten free pizza-crowd favorite
rice milk, cow milk, water
everyone has a story, a joke, something to say
dishes load up, girls in bath-hair is washed
teeth are scrubbed
sheets, blankies, lovies all in a row.
sweet kisses
sweet dreams
yeah, it goes a little something like that.
