Playing House

In the role of "Margaret"

The "Big Bwuddu" Jack

The sweet baby Bella

Or Audrey, Harper and Georgia Kate

When these three play house-it's serious.  The funniest thing is that they never want to be the mom or the dad, that would be way too much work.  They like to be the "big sister" "the big brother" and "the baby".  They sleep, they watch "medium kid" shows on TV (you know like Arthur and Phinneus and Ferb-shows they aspire to watch someday).  Other parts of their drama include packing for vacations, talking on the phone and getting ready for church.  Audrey disciplines the lot, "Really Harper? Really?" (I just love hearing myself come out of my daughters mouth) and keeps them in line.  She is the producer, director, screenwriter and star.

Yesterday they decided to pretend to be the praise team from our church.  Apparently Georgia Kate wanted to be Margaret, but Audrey had other plans.  They wailed on drums and strummed the guitar belting out "Bwessed be da name of da Yord".  This kind of play goes on for hours, with breaks to whine, cry and ask for snacks.  I can't wait to reflect back on these days when they really are all grown up, I am excited to see what they become and if they ever get to watch "medium kid" shows.

You must tell Margaret that she is a coveted role in your kids' make believe. She'll be so touched. Adorable!
